Weather can change
- There are lots of different types of weather
- There are four seasons (autumn, winter, spring and summer)
- Different seasons often have different weather.
- Days are longer and hotter in summer
- Days are shorter and colder in winter.
Other knowledge
- Different seasons mean we may need to dress differently.
- Some sunny days are hot and some are cold.
Key vocabulary for Autumn 2
autumn – the season after summer. Months September to December.
winter – the coldest season of the year. Months December to February
spring – months March to May.
summer – the hottest season of the year. Months April to Aurgust.
weather – the state of heat, coldness, dryness, cloudiness, wind rain etc.
hotter- higher temperature
colder- lower temperature
longer- comparing the length of something
shorter- comparing the length of something
temperature- how hot or cold something is.
