Robinwood Residential Trip

Robinwood Residential Trip

Monday 19th - Wednesday 21st June 2023

We have started to organise a 3 day residential trip for Year 6 to the Maes-Y-Nant Robinwood Activity Centre in Wrexham. It will be a chance for us to celebrate the end of their time at St. Paul’s. Robinwood is a wonderful opportunity for your child to take part in exciting activities that will develop teamwork, resilience and problem solving. It will also help them to develop independence before they leave for high school. We have been going to Robinwood for many years and children always come home with amazing memories.

Maes-Y-Nant is set in the beautiful welsh countryside just outside of Wrexham. Maes-Y-Nant when translated means 'house by a stream'. Although the stream remains, the site has been transformed over the past few years to house the purpose built facilities to provide an amazing Robinwood experience. This is their newest centre, but we feel the children will really benefit from all of the exciting activities it has to offer.

Why did we choose Robinwood?

  • All activities are on site and close together, making the most of every minute.
  • Robinwood offers the Ultimate timetable, including the legendary Piranha Pool, Dungeon and Quest themed problem solving sessions.
  • Maes-Y-Nant boasts a purpose built high ropes course.
  • Raft Building and Canoeing takes place on their purpose built lake, which is shallow enough to be perfect for Year 6, but big enough for a real feel of adventure.
  • Maes-Y-Nant has a brand new Giant Swing and a Zip Wire of around 80 metres in length.
  • Children can also enjoy a specially designed indoor caving system and learn how to use a real bow and arrows in archery.
  • Dormitories and teachers accommodation are housed close together in the main building. The children sleep in dormitories with between 2-12 children, with en-suite toilets. Boys and girls will sleep in separate rooms.
  • Robinwood staff provide 24 hour care - they oversee bedtimes and are on duty throughout the night to supervise the children.
  • The children will have the same group leader for their whole stay, which helps them to develop good relationships with the children and enables them to encourage the children to make the most of all the opportunities.
  • All food and drinks are supplied and made on site.
