LEARNING to make a difference

Computing

This week in computing, we have been looking at the Mars Rover and how it uses code to send messages and data back to Earth.

We used a Mars Rover map to send coding instructions for our rover's mission.

We had to think carefully about what code we needed to input and debug our code if we made any mistakes.

We then looked at how the Mars Rover transmits information. It uses something called 'binary code'.

This is made up of 1s and 0s.

0 means off and 1 means on.

This allows the rover to make up hundreds of different numbers to transmit back to Earth.

We had a go at writing some binary code!
