Hi Rowan, we are all really looking forward to welcoming you in September to start your Year Five learning journey.
Year Five is a great year, where you will get to learn about lots of interesting things including the Amazon rainforest, outer space, famous artists and much, much more. We will be building on the wonderful maths and English learning from Year Four and we will also continue moving up the times table mountain – hopefully, some of you will reach the top! I know we will all have an amazing time in Year Five.
I hope that you are just as excited as we are.
Love from Mrs Eaton, Mrs Lawson and Miss McDonald x
- Reading books should be brought into school every day alongside your planner. In year 5, we ask that children read at least 3 times every week and this should be recorded in their planners. Every Friday, teachers will check planners and children who haven't read will need to spend the start of Friday break time reading with their teacher.
- Reading at least 3 times a week will give your child enough reads to take part in our reading prize at the end of each half term!
- Year 5 have swimming lessons every Monday afternoon. Please ensure your child brings a swimming kit to school with a towel, swimming trunks/costume and a swimming cap.
- We have P.E. on a Tuesday afternoon. We ask that children come to school in their regular school uniform as they now have their P.E. kits in school to change into. To ensure your child is prepared for their P.E. lessons, please provide: black shorts/jogging bottoms, a white t-shirt, sensible trainers and their red school jumper. Football kits are not allowed. Please ensure that your child removes any earrings for P.E.
- Your child has a water bottle at school so will not need to bring in their own.
Take a look in the folder's below. In here we have pictures of our classrooms including our amazing door displays and reading corners!
