On Friday 22nd September, we celebrated languages day.
As we were learning about North America in geography, we focussed our day on Mexico. The official language of Mexico is Spanish. We learned some Spanish phrases and played some fun games including Spanish bingo.
For the house art competition, we studied the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, who is well-known for her many portraits, self-portraits and work inspired by Mexican culture and nature.
We took inspiration from her 'Day of the Dead' artwork and created our own versions. Here are some of our creations.

The pupil governors judged our artwork.
In Chestnut 1, Robyn was chosen as the winner and won 100 house points.
