Week 6 Maths Tasks
Task 1: To know how to use and apply knowledge of my times tables.
For this task, you must choose a times table calculation, for example 9 x 5 = 45. Then, you must use your brain to work out whether the tens and units/ones are odd or even. So in this case, the tens (40) is even and the units (5) are odd. Remember that your odd numbers end in 1,3,5,7 or 9 and your even numbers end in 0,2,4,6,8.
Task 2: To know how to solve problems involving multiplying 3 digits by 2 digits.
Last week we looked at long multiplication and multiplying three digits by two digits. Have a look at these problems and apply the method that we practiced last week to solve them!
Task 3: To know how to multiply four digits by two digits.
Now we are going to have a go at multiplying four digits by two digits using the same strategy that we have been using for the last couple of weeks. If you are struggling to remember our method, then refresh your memory by looking at examples from the past two weeks. The only difference is you need to remember to multiply your thousands as well. Easy!
