What are we doing today?
This week we are going to be looking at maps, map symbols and keys and understanding how to use them.
Do you remember anything about maps from previous years?
Here is an example of a key that you might see on a map!
If you have a map at home, have a look to see if you can spot the key! Do you recognise any of the symbols?
You are going to be playing map symbol bingo!
- Draw a bingo grid, as shown to the side, and fill it in with your 9 chosen symbols but DO NOT write their names! This is a test to see if you can remember them!
2. Here are 15 different symbols you may find on a map. Have a look at them all and choose your favourite 9.
3. Once you have filled out your BINGO grid, find somebody at home to randomly read the symbols shown in number 1.
If they call out your symbol then you can put a big dross through it to show that it has been called!
If you manage to cross out 3 in a row, then you can shout LINE!
If you manage to cross out all 9 symbols then you can shout BINGO!
