LEARNING to make a difference

Week 11

Science

Thinking time

What is the difference between these words?

Nature              Habitat              Environment

If we went on a Living Things search, what would you expect to find in your garden?

How might this be different to your local park?

What is a mini-beast?

Quite literally, a ‘minibeast’ is simply a small animal. Spiders, snails, slugs, beetles, centipedes, worms, earwigs, caterpillars are just a few.

Class Activity

How many different things live in your garden?

You are going to explore your own garden. Your habitat is a habitat for a number of different living things.

You can either photograph or draw the different creatures you find living in your garden.

Once you have taken your photograph or drawn your picture you can make them more scientific by writing down their location and the identity of the living thing.
