This week’s spelling rule is adding the suffix –ful and –less.
A suffix is a group of letters added on to the end of a word to make a new word with a different meaning. –ful and –less are added to words to make adjectives, which can be used to describe people or things.
-ful means ‘full of’
-less means ‘without’
Eg. care + ful = careful
care + less = careless
Task 1: How many different adjectives can you think of that end in the suffix – ful or – less?
Task 2: Write a single word with –ful or –less to complete each sentence.
