# Week 1

Maths Activity 1

Arithmetic Starter 15 + 10 = 21 + 10 = 36 + 10 = 55 + 10 = 47 + 10 = 69 + 10 = Task Can you partition 55, 61, 87, and 95 into tens and ones? (How many tens and how many ones?)   Write down all the number bonds to 10. ( e.g 9+1=10)   Order these numbers from smallest to largest: 62, 44, 26, 74, 31.   How many different ways can you make 20p using these coins: 1p       2p      5p   10p      20p Reasoning Challenge Spongebob has 50p and buys a chocolate bar for 13p and a bag of crisps for 24p. Can you work out how much he has spent and how much money he has left?

Maths Activity 2

 Arithmetic Starter 5 x 2 = 3 x 2 = 6 x 2 = 4 x 2 = 10 x 2 = 7 x 2 = Task Which numbers are even numbers: 6, 15, 47, 22, 3, 8, 19.   Use chips and peas or a numberline to work out the answers:   25 + 12 =                 41 + 24 =            16 + 31 =               34 + 25 = 58 – 13 =                 29 – 10 =            67 – 24 =               28 – 20 = Reasoning Challenge Spongebob has 12 marbles Patrick has 14 more than Spongebob How many marbles does Patrick have? Maths Activity 3

 Arithmetic Starter 5 + -- = 10 10 = 6 + -- 9 + -- = 10 -- + 7 = 10 -- + 4 = 10 2 + -- = 10 Task   What times are showing in the clocks? 2. Guess the shapes: I have 4 straight sides that are all equal. I am a ______________ I have 3 straight sides. I am a __________ I have 4 sides, 2 are short and 2 are long. I am a _____________ Can you draw the shapes? Reasoning Challenge Spongebob has completed this calculation. 73 – 21 = He thinks the answer is 50. Do you agree? Explain why.
