LO: To design a recipe for Ancient Egyptian flat bread.
The Ancient Egyptians ate a lot of bread, it was the most popular food.

Here is a simple flat bread recipe
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes
Servings: 16 flatbreads
Ingredients
- ▢1.5 cups natural yoghurt
- ▢2 tbsps olive oil
- ▢2.5 cups self raising flour
Instructions

Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix either by hand or with a mixer until an elastic dough forms.

Divide the dough into 16 pieces, then roll each out into a circle around .5m thick.

Heat a frypan over medium/high heat.

Put the flatbread into the frying pan

Cook until bubbles rise.

Turn over, cook until golden.

Repeat until they are all done.

The Ancient Egyptian's used lots of different ingredients, here are some of their favourites that you might want to include in your recipe. (Remember you are going to make these next week so choose ingredients that you have at home or your grown ups are happy to buy for you.)

- onion
On a piece of paper write your recipe for your flat breads. You will need to use this next week and have all your ingredients ready to do make them with your grown ups next week.
