  • Chestnut 2's learning journey

In computing this half term we are learning how to use microbits! In our first lesson we learnt how to connect them to a computer and even managed to upload our names and different shapes. Some of us even used the motion sensor and managed to upload sounds.

On Wednesday we went on a school trip to visit Greater Manchester's fire safety training ground! We learnt so much about spotting hazards, what the fire service do and how we can stay safe.

This term we have been learning about the Vikings. We had a real Viking come to visit us and teach us some key skills about battle!

Recently in computing we have been learning how to code and also use QR codes! Here's some pictures of us at work...

In Science, we had a great time making blood smoothies! We used apple juice, marshmallows, sprinkles and raspberries to represent the red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma and platelets.
    CHEERS!!!

In year 6 we have some AMAZING reading prizes that we get to decide ourselves!
In Autumn 2, we asked for a crisp party - Mrs KJ was very happy with this as crisps are her favourite!

In Autumn 1, Mrs Kubik-Jones asked us which sweets we each wanted to pour into our very own sweet salad. We created a video pouring all of our sweets together and then got to take a bag home each!

The Christmas activities were so much fun! We met Santa and his reindeers, had a wonderful Christmas jumper day and even had a fabulous Christmas party!

    Our Christmas Carol Service
