Welcome to Year 1

Hello and welcome to the wonderful world of Ash 1 and Ash 2, where we learn lots of amazing things, try our best and most of all have lots of fun. We are very excited to be on our learning journey with you and we have got lots of exciting things planned that we will be learning about including Plants, Hot and Cold Places, Neil Armstrong: The First Man on the Moon and Toys from the Past. Hopefully, we will be able to visit somewhere cold and have a visit from a time traveller! 

Important Information

PE sessions are on Thursday in Year 1.

Please make sure your child has a PE kit in school: white t-shirt, black shorts/leggings/jogging bottoms (in cold weather) pumps/trainers. *Football kits are NOT allowed*  Jewellery is not to be worn including earrings.

Planners need to be in school daily so any notes can be passed on between home and school. Please feel free

to add any information you feel we may need to know e.g. a different adult picking up on a particular day.  

Please ensure planners are brought in to school every day. Reading books need to be in school on a Thursday.

We encourage you to listen to your children read as much as possible. When children have read five times at home and this is recorded in their planners they will receive a prize.

Please only send a school (red) book bag with your child each morning due to limited space in our cloakroom.
