Welcome to Year 4!

We are delighted to be with you in Year 4. It will be an exciting time with lots to learn and lots of fun to be had along the way. We will be learning about Ancient Greece and The Great Plague in history; comparing rivers in geography; electricity, sound and much more in science; plus all the other exciting things in RE, The Arts, PE and more! At the end of the year you will have a times table check, so we will spend lots of time helping you to conquer the times tables and then you can show what you know at the end of the year – you will be great! We are really looking forward to watching you learn, develop and be amazing all year long!

At the end of each half term, when your child has read at least three times per week, they will receive a reading prize to celebrate their positive effort and commitment.
- Projects books will be sent home each half term with suggested activities to complete. Prizes are awarded for all children who bring in a completed project book as well as a winner chosen from each class.
- Times Tables - In the summer term, all children in year 4 will complete the government's 25 question multiplication tables check on all times tables up to 12x. Please practice these with your children as often as you can. For more suggestions on learning these, see the section below.
