Anansi The Spider

LO: To know how to use because in my sentences.

Retell the story in your own words to an adult or your brother or sister.

Today we are going to use a conjunction in our sentences.

We are using ‘because’ to join ideas in a sentence.

For more information watch the video clip:

Using conjunctions to join ideas - Year 2 - P3 - English - Catch Up Lessons - Home learning with BBC Bitesize - BBC Bitesize

We are going to write about the second part of the story when Anansi finds the bright globe in the forest.

Pretend you are Anansi, and you need to decide which son you would give the globe to.

Here is an example of what I am looking for:

If I was Anansi I would give the globe to Stone Thrower because he threw a stone at Falcon to save Anansi.

I have said who I would give the globe to and given a reason by using the word because to join my ideas to create one sentence.

It’s your turn now, I have included how to structure your sentence to help. Try to write 4 sentences.

Don’t forget to read back your sentences to check they make sense and make sure you include capital letters and full stops.
