LO: To know how to use verbs and adjectives to describe what is happening in a picture.

Read the book up to slide 6.

Look at the picture on slide 6. Describe to your adult what is happening in the picture.

Today we are going to generate verbs to describe what is happening in this picture.

Remember, verbs are action words. Can you think of any? Write a list in your book.

Look at the picture and think of actions that are happening in the picture.

E.g. sitting, lying, standing, sitting, waiting, floating, resting.

Now we are going to write sentences to describe what is happening.

You need to include nouns, and adjectives and a verbs.

E.g. The tired cows are lying in the dirty, brown grass.

I have highlighted nouns in yellow, adjectives in blue and verbs in green. If you have coloured pencils or crayons maybe you could also highlight your sentences to make sure you have used these in your sentences.

Try to write at least 5 sentences and make sure you include capital letters at the start of each sentence and for the names of people and places, full stops and finger spaces. Don’t forget to read your sentences back to check they make sense.
