On Thursday 19th April the children took part in A Play in a Day. They learned about plants and what they need to grow and survive. They also learned why plants are important to us and the environment. The children all enjoyed taking part and performing to show what they had learned. Well done Year Ash 2!!!
On Friday 9th February Year 1 visited Blackburn Museum to look at toys from the past. The children had a lovely time looking at old toys. They also played with some old toys and made one of their own to take home.
World Book Day
On World Book Day Year One came to school dressed as their favourite book character. The children looked amazing and had a lovely day. We read Rumble in the Jungle, made animals from the Jungle to display in the hall and wrote an animal poem.
On Tuesday 6th March the children visited Eureka - The Children's Museum in Halifax. The children had a fantastic time exploring in the 'All about me' gallery. They found out lots of interesting information about how our bodies work. We also had chance to explore the other areas of the museum.
As part of our Space Topic the children enjoyed a visit from 'Neil Armstrong'!
They enjoyed finding out about Space travel and how he became the first man on the Moon.
The children also learned about the Solar System and enjoyed taking part in role play to enhance their understanding.
